Bill McKibbon Book Discussion and Events

This summer we invite you to join other Hancock folks in reading Bill McKibben’s latest book, The Flag, The Cross, and The Station Wagon: A Graying American Looks Back At His Suburban Boyhood, and Wonders What the Hell Happened.

It’s a wonderful book, in which Bill reflects on his childhood in Lexington in light of major societal shifts across the country in recent decades. This book is highly relevant to our own mission, vision and values and we believe you’ll find it both delightful as well as insightful.

In September we will offer several times for people to come together, some in person, and some virtually, to discuss the book. And on Sunday, September 11, Bill will preach in the morning worship service.

The book is available from Amazon as well as more local book sellers. Maxima Books in Lexington Center is carrying it for $27.99. We will also order a few copies for the church which can be borrowed as needed. If you need assistance obtaining the book please let one of the ministers know and we will help you.
