Community Garden Day at the Russell School, May 14

Join City Mission and The Russell School for Community Garden Day from 12-2pm, where we will plant new crops in preparation for harvest. The Russell School garden is a project that helps the students learn about ecology, agriculture, recycling, and composting. It also grows healthy food alternatives in an urban environment. You are welcome to bring garden tools, gloves, vegetable seeds and, of course, elbow grease to help complete the project.  A $20 per person participation fee is requested to sponsor this project. On Sunday, November 15th, join City Mission and the Public Voice Group from 11:15-12:30pm in the Dining Room for a dynamic discussion on homelessness prevention. The session will include trained storytellers/speakers whose lived experiences give insight, understanding and perspective to the issues underlying homelessness.
