Helping Hands & Minds at Hancock – Committees & More

The many programs and committees of Hancock Church are the responsibility of the members and friends of Hancock. We organize and perform the work at Hancock. In the process of working together, we get to know one another and in this way we build our community, a community that looks after one another. The leadership of our programs comes from the committees. The Nominating committee is actively looking for volunteers and recommendations for filling the committees. We have openings in Nominating, Christian Service, Deacons, Finance,...

Sharing Good Friday Walk 2014

This act of sharing with those, particularly children, in 3 of our most poverty stricken southern states, has been generously supported by Hancock people for nearly that many years, both as walkers and as sponsors. Sustainable Harvest International Piedras Negras Update

The orchard is flourishing! We recently received news from Piedras Negras and learned that the school’s fruit orchard, which Hancock’s fundraising afforded the community, is flourishing. The children are already snacking on nutritious plantains from the orchard. Oranges, mangos, avocados, and cashews are flowering and will be ready for...

Hancock’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort recognized as Outstanding by the Fuller Center!

In May of 2013, Hancock sent 11 hard-working adults to regions of New Jersey most devastated by Hurricane Sandy the previous fall.  For a full week they hung sheet rock, painted, and installed flooring.  They found that through this work, their friendships with one another were strengthened, their commitment to social justice was renewed, and their gratitude was expanded and refreshed. At the end of the trip, our team was recognized by the Fuller Center as an exceptionally well-organized volunteer group. From the Fuller Center...
