Cantata Sunday, May 3rd, 10am

The Hancock Chancel Choir and Ensemble will present works by Leonard Bernstein, including the during morning worship on Sunday, May 3 at 10am. Chichester Psalms is a joyous and moving work that will be accompanied by harp, organ, and percussion. Also being presented will be selections from Bernstein’s Mass. The service is free and open to all, regardless of denomination or faith. The church is fully handicap accessible and free parking is available.

A Celtic Christmas and a classic Cantata

Hancock will celebrate the season through music with two widely varied services on Sunday, December 9th. At 10:00 a.m., the Chancel Choir and Cantata Orchestra will perform J.S. Bach’s Cantata #61, Nun komm der Heiden Heiland as part of morning worship. They will also perform choruses from Cantata #140 Wachet auf, and music by Praetorious. The orchestra, professional early music specialists playing on period instruments, will also perform Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #3 starting at 9:45 as a prelude for the service.
