Christian Education for Children

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Mark 10:14

Mission: Hancock Church School introduces the people and stories of the Old and New Testament in a nurturing and accepting setting. We encourage children to explore the stories and to find their own connections with God through these narratives. We welcome children of all backgrounds and educational needs in accommodating surroundings.

Church School Enrollment: Children are welcome to enroll in Church School classes at any time. You may bring your child or your children to church on a Sunday morning and enroll them at the Church School Office, or you may call the Church Office at (781) 862-4220 during the week and give us the necessary information.

Sunday Services: Children are a welcome addition to Sunday services. Generally, children attend Morning Worship with their families until 10:15 am, when they go to their Church School classes. On Family Service days, children are encouraged to experience all of Morning Worship. We provide coloring pages and crayons in a basket in the Narthex for younger parishioners. We encourage families to sit front and center for the best view of the chancel and to allow little ones to stand on the pew if need be. Please feel free to answer children's questions during the service, rather than quiet them.

Child Care for Infants and Toddlers: Childcare is available beginning at 9:45 AM on Sundays as well as during many other church programs for infants through four year olds. We have both an infant nursery and a program for toddlers.

Church School for Preschool Through Grade 5: Our Sunday morning Church School is taught by volunteer teachers using the Bible Quest curriculum, which includes Bible stories, learning projects, children's sermons, and music. The children support Heifer Project International with their offerings. To locate a particular classroom, see our church floorplan.
