With the arrival of the growing season came an abundance of produce available to the Lexington Food Pantry. Now on a Saturday morning, the Food Pantry clients can experience that which they otherwise probably could not. Each week 3-5 tables are laden with a wide variety of fresh produce made possible by contributors both old and new.

The Lexington Interfaith Garden, which last year produced literally a ton of produce for the Pantry, continues on. The Giving Garden at the Church of Our Redeemer has expanded its offerings. The Boston Area Gleaners provide a large amount gleaned from local farms. Wilson Farm chips in with donations of the unclaimed CSA shares. Wagon Wheel Farm Stand is also on the list. New this year are donations of unclaimed CSA produce from LexFarm, surplus from residents’ gardens which they share, produce rescued by Food Link’s and some purchased by the Pantry with donated monies.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all. You make it possible for our clients to have nutritious, fresh produce and it is truly appreciated. It is unfortunate that in our climate the growing season is so short.
