Worship for a Blizzard Sunday – Sunday, February 15

Even though we can’t gather together this Sunday, we can still find time for worship in our own homes and hearts. Feel free to use the resources below to bring worship into your home, or use your own instead. (Don’t worry: It doesn’t have to start at 10:00 AM nor last an hour.) Handicapped Bathroom, New Coffee Machines, Elevator Installation

Over the past month we have seen several elements of the construction project completed: the first and second floor bathrooms, the second floor handicapped bathroom (next to the Pearson Room), and the Pearson Room kitchenette.   The new coffee machines and the new refrigerator and freezer are up and running in the kitchen. Most of the kitchen work has been completed. The Fire Department, however, will not certify the kitchen for use until other aspects of the fire alarm system in the building have been...
Elevator Installation Has Begun!

Elevator Installation Has Begun!

We are all delighted to see ThyssenKrupp (elevator installer) as they have begun installation this week. It should be about 6 weeks for the install.  After elevator inspections and completion of the stairs, the contractor will finish the front lobby and the front offices.  We hope to have most of our construction finished by the end of the year.  The kitchen is close to completion, and after a few more items are finished we can get the kitchen inspected by the building inspector, the fire department and...

Construction Update Sept 3, 2014

Construction Update Sept 3, 2014

The church has been humming with construction activity all summer long. Several issues causing delays have been identified and corrected, and progress is being made on all fronts. We appreciate that everyone, and especially the staff, is suffering from construction fatigue. We ask for everyone’s patience over the next several months. When we cross the finish line it will be a joyful event! Here is where the various elements of the construction project stand: * Narthex: new doors and windows completed. New carpeting to be...
The Narthex and Bathroom Renovations

The Narthex and Bathroom Renovations

The Narthex Doors are under renovation so that the doors will line up with the aisles. So far one is finished, and it looks great! Quick progress is being made in the bathroom renovations, as well! See the pictures below of the trench in the hallway, and a short 22 second video tour of what it’s like to walk from the Administrative Hallway to the Nursery School Hallway.
Stewardship 2014 Summary

Stewardship 2014 Summary

Delight in Giving: Congratulations to the HUCC Community! Strings of brightly colored prayer flags arced across Clark Hall in October, 2013, the start of our annual stewardship campaign. The flags made visible the many ways in which Hancock’s members and friends share their time and serve others as part of our local, national and global ministries. So began our celebration of Delight in Giving as our church family seeks to grow together to further God’s work in the world. You may remember circling words on...
