Homemade Cookie Plates to Benefit Women’s Lunch Place

UPDATE 12/9/2015 Thank you! A GIANT Thank you, Hancock! The Christmas Cookie Bake Sale to fund the  Birthday Program at the Women’s Lunch Place was a resounding success in so many ways! On the most surface level, it might seem a bit facile to be holding a bake sale. But in the deepest sense it was not. The process sensitized our hearts, strengthened our feeling of community and will contribute to others’ wellbeing. This was a huge joint effort by Hancock between bakers and buyers,...

What? You Thought Christmas Was Over?

What? You Thought Christmas Was Over?

I was just a bit angry at MAGIC 106.7 on December 26th. You see, this Boston radio station was playing Christmas music, non-stop, since some date before Thanksgiving. That, in and of itself, was enough to get this pastor to do his best “Bah Humbug!” However, when I scanned passed the station on the 26th, I was shocked to find that the station had stopped it’s month long loop and returned to it’s regularly scheduled rotation of adult-contemporary music. It was one thing for the station to begin Christmas music before Thanksgiving...
