Tribute to Leonard Bernstein to Launch 5th Season of Hancock Concert Series

LEXINGTON, MA–Choirs, brass, bells, early music, vocal music, and a spectacular new piano trio are all on the roster for this fall’s Hancock Concert Series. Celebrating its 5th season, this year’s season is bigger and better than ever. The Series is sponsored by, and held at, the beautifully renovated and fully accessible Hancock Church on Lexington’s historic battle green.
‘To celebrate our new building, we have planned  our biggest Series yet,” says Director of Music, Mark Morgan, “we have 14 concerts planned for the entire year, with a huge range of music styles, including programs for the whole family.” The Series kicks off on Sunday, October 18th with New England Light Opera performing a tribute toLeonard Bernstein, the series continues on Saturday, November 14th with the Bay Colony Brass, and Saturday November 21st with the Theia Piano Trio. The Christmas season brings us the Jameson Singers on Saturday, December 5th, the Hancock Christmas Concert featuring the Chancel and Bell choirs on Sunday, December 13th, and the early music ensemble A Joyful Noyse on Saturday December 19th.
All concerts are admission by “pay what you can” donation, with proceeds going towards the artists and supporting the music programs of the church. Free parking is available in the lot behind the church. The church is handicap accessible and hearing assist is available.
Additional concerts by such groups as the Boston Camerata and the Labyrinth Choir will also be performed at the church this fall.
