In 1977, LGBTQ people of faith realized that something important was missing from the Boston Pride Festival. While the community gathered to celebrate its social and political accomplishments, it wasn’t gathering to honor the faith and spirituality that was growing in its heart. Each year that heart continues to grow!

The Pride Interfaith Coalition is honored to announce the speaker for this year’s interfaith service will be Chris Stedman, author of FaITHeIST: How an Atheist Found Common Ground with the Religious, Assistant Humanist Chaplain at Harvard University, and the Values in Action Coordinator for the Humanist Community at Harvard. Keshet is our award recipient
this year; acknowledging its years of dedication bringing the GLBT and Jewish communities together. A portion of this year’s collection will be donated to xxxxx.

The Pride Interfaith Coalition is comprised of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people of faith creating community through interfaith dialogue. Faith traditions we represent include: American Baptist ∙ Buddhism ∙ Catholicism ∙ Christian Scientist ∙ Episcopal ∙ Hindu ∙ Islam ∙ Judaism ∙ Lutheran ∙ Metropolitan Community Churches ∙ Native American ∙ Pagan ∙ United Church of Christ ∙ United Methodist ∙ West African Traditions. For 35 years the Pride Interfaith Coalition has hosted an interfaith service for the sharing of our religious diversity!

Following the Interfaith Service at Old South, Hancock will carry a banner in the Pride Parade led by our fearless leader Paul Shupe!  Read more about parade details on the Boston Pride website here:
